CANNABINOIDS

Any of a group of closely related compounds that include cannabinol and the active constituents of cannabis.

CBD

Non-psychoative chemical found in cannabis.

CULTIVAR

A plant variety that has been produced in cultivation by selective breeding.

HEMP

Non-THC producing cannabis

HYBRID

A combination of indica and sativa cultivars to create a balanced phenotype.

INDICA

The effect of indica is generally classified as a 'stone', meaning that it is a high more centered on the body. Indicas may enhance physical.

SATIVA

A sativa is a type of marijuana/plant that will typically produce a euphoric, energetic, cerebral high.

STRAIN

Varieties/named of cannabis cultivar.

THC

Pyschoactive chemical found in cannabis.

THCa

A non-psychoactive cannabinoid found in raw and live cannabis. As the plant dries, THCA slowly converts to THC.

TRICHOME

They produce the hundreds of known cannabinoids, terpenes, and flavanoids that make our favorite cannabis strains potent, unique and effective.

TYPE II

Cannabis plants with balanced ratios of CBD:THC, creating a euphoric high without raciness, paranoia or a tiresome comedown.

CLONE

A close is an exact replica of a host marijuana plant; it looks (and smokes) exactly like the marijuana plant that was used to create it.

CULTIVATOR

A plant variety that has been produced in cultivation by selective breeding.

FEMINIZED SEEDS

Seeds that only produce female plants

FLOWERING

Producing flowers at a specified time or of a specified type.

GREENHOUSE

Growing cannabis in a greenhouse removes the compleity of designing an artificial indoor grow room. For many it is safer, more predictivle and easier than growing outdoor.

HYDROPONICS

The process of growing plants in sand, gravel, or liquid with added nutrients but without soil.

PHENOTYPE

The set of observable characteristics of an individual resulting from the interaction of its genotype with the environment.

BUDTENDER

A person who serves customers at an establishment where marijuana is sold.

BUTANE

A flammable hydrocarbon gas that is a constituent of petroleum and is used in bottles form as a fuel. It is a member of the alkane series.

DAB

A dab is when you take a concentrate (ie: wax, shatter, rosin, oil) and place it on a very hot metal or quartz surface called a nail and inhale the vapor. The vapors, being derived from a concentrate will be much stronger in potency than the smoke or vapor from traditional cannabis flowers.

EDIBLE

THC is metabolized by the liver, which converts it to 11-hydroxy-THC. This actice metabolite is particulary effective in crossing the blood-brain barrier, resulting in a more intense high. Inhaled THC undergoes a different metabolic process, because rather than passing through the stomach and then the liver, the THC travels directly to the brain. This is why the effects of smoked or vaporized cannabis come on faster and diminish quickly.

HASH

An extract of the cannabis plant containing concentrations of the psychoactive resins.

KIEF

Refers to the resinous trichomes of cannabis that may accumulate in the containers or be sifted from loose, dry, cannabis flower with a mesh screen or sieve.

OIL

Hash oil is prduced by solvent extraction of cannabis or hash. After filtering and evaporating the solvent, a sticky resinous liquid with a strong herbal odor (remarkably different from the peculiar odor of hemp) remains.

ROSIN

Rosin refers to an extraction process that utlizies a combination of head and pressure to nearly instantaneously squeeze resinous sap from your initial starting material. With cannabis, this method is incredibly versatile in that it can either be used with flowers or to clean up hash and kief into a full melt hash oil.
